Hello again! 

I hope you all have had a fantastic month..  Joel and I have been very busy, but very happy to be doing what we do! Here’s what you’ll find in this update:

Megacities Manila

For those who don’t know, Megacities is a ministry of YWAM Perth that invites and coordinates teams from all over the world to work in one city for one year. The goal is to not just do our own work, but to partner with the local church. That way, when the Megacities year is over, ministry will continue! The city for 2017 is Manila, Philippines and a few of its surrounding regions. Joel and I were in Manila for a total of 9 weeks last year, doing preparation work for the teams. Even from just a short time, it was obvious to us (and our YWAM leaders) that Manila is full of opportunity for every type of ministry (NO JOKE!)! 

The Megacities year began in January, and our first “wave” of teams have just finished 3 months of outreach. We had people from all over the world, doing all kinds of ministry (sports, art, healthcare, prison ministry, just to name a few). Worship for the Nations (my ministry) has also returned and have had a successful trip. 

Here are the ministry statistics since January (and this info is a couple of weeks old! So it has probably increased by now!):

• Salvation: 4,400 (215 of those were mobilised by a local church member!)
• People who have heard the Gospel: 21,389
• People who have received prayer: 16,309
• People who were instantly healed when prayed for ailment, injury or illness: 270
• Hours of prayer in the city: 2,750
• Hours of teaching (this includes Christian and healthcare teaching) in the city: 584
• Number of people taught: 17,877
• Bibles given away: 1,708
• Evangelistic material distributed: 6,969
• Mercy Ministry (this means helping those in need in a hands-on/practical way): 3,550
• People who have received healthcare: 366
• Discipleship Training Seminars held (teaching some basics of what it means to follow Jesus): 27 (estimated attendance is 577 people)
• Churches planted: 1! 
• Artwork created and given away: 213 (including 3 murals)

God is at work! Joel and I are so blessed to already have been a part of this amazing work this year. School of Worship – one week to go!

 I (Abi) lead a school here at YWAM Perth called School of Worship, and it starts in a week! It’s been a lot of hard work getting things together, and I’m so glad it will all be happening so soon!  My friend and staff, Nathalie (see picture below) arrived last week, and we’ve been going through staff training (continued education to best run the school). We have 13 students this year, and they’ll start to arrive this week. We’re hoping for a few last minute students to come – the more the merrier! 

One of the scriptures God highlighted to us for the school was Psalm 1. It will be a year of growth for the School of Worship, like the tree in the Psalm. Please be praying for our school to learn, do, and be all that God has in store for us this year!

• Pray for Joel and I as we step into a busy season! We love doing what we do, and we want to do it to the best of our ability!
